GTCC Bookstore Temporary Hiring
The Guilford Tech Bookstore hires temporary workers to work during our “Rush” periods at the beginning of each semester. We typically hire a few workers to work freight in the months leading up to the beginning of the semester, a few more to work web orders when the website opens, and a lot of workers to work during the 3 Week financial Aid period. The job is a temporary one, but we typically try to have the same workers come back for many semesters.
Temporary Bookstore workers typically perform a variety of tasks, including receiving freight, stocking books and supplies, pulling web orders, running a cash register, and helping students find their books. The most important skills you need to work in the bookstore are: a great attitude, a lot of energy and great customer service skills.
Typical Shifts include:
5:00 am – 1:00 pm
7:30 am – 1:00 pm
7:30 am – 4:00 pm
12:30 pm – 8:15 pm
3:30 pm – 8:15 pm
You will need to be available to work full shifts; it is not possible, for example, to come in at 7:30, leave for class at 9, and return at 10 to continue your shift.
